SEND Intervention Assistant – Support Learners with SEND

About the role

The University College Birmingham Disability and Neurodiversity Support team is expanding and seeks a SEND Intervention Assistant. You will work closely with curriculum and support teams to identify learners with EHCPs who need targeted intervention.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify EHCP learners requiring intervention.
  • Deliver structured one‑to‑one and small‑group support to promote academic progress, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to EHCP review meetings.
  • Collaborate with curriculum staff, support teams and external partners to ensure tailored support.

Required profile

  • Proactive and committed individual with experience supporting learners with SEND.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective interventions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to organise tailored support.
  • Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset.
