SEND Teaching Assistant – Level 3 – Birmingham

About the role

We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join specialist schools and alternative provisions across Birmingham as SEND Teaching Assistants. This full‑time, day‑to‑day and long‑term supply role supports children with special educational needs, helping them achieve confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Assist pupils in developing confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider SEND team.
• Provide personal care where required.

Required profile

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (CACHE or NCFE).
• Experience working with children or vulnerable adults, through placements, employment or volunteering.
• Patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
