Senior Backend Engineer with AI Expertise

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend engineer to lead the development of our AI‑powered communications platform. The role combines deep backend expertise with AI integration, and includes mentoring junior developers and shaping the technical roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs primarily using Python.
• Optimize performance, reliability and security of all backend components.
• Lead code reviews, pair‑programming and coaching for junior team members.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers and engineers to deliver high‑impact features.
• Contribute to system architecture, evaluate new technologies and define long‑term platform strategy.
• Integrate AI and machine‑learning features, working closely with AI/ML specialists.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.NET (C#) and PHP.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, authentication/authorisation and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Proven ability to mentor junior developers and lead small teams.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, large language models and data pipelines.
