Senior Buyer – Aerospace Procurement

About the role

Airbus Belfast Limited is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement activities for A220 wing aerostructure components. You will work within the Structural Standard Parts Procurement team, shaping sourcing strategies that drive cost efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement for wing aerostructure components, from requirement definition to contract execution.
• Develop strategic sourcing plans, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and manage supplier risk.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier evaluations, and selection to secure best value.
• Negotiate complex contracts covering price, terms, delivery, quality, and long‑term partnership.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and legal teams to align procurement with project goals.
• Manage supplier performance, resolve issues, and foster strong relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, procurement activities, and supplier data.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC in a business‑related subject or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CPIM, CIPS) with at least 2 years of sourcing or procurement experience.
• Candidates with 3 years of experience and lower qualifications will also be considered.
• Strong integrity, self‑motivation, and ability to build professional relationships.

Required skills

• Solid IT skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with MRP systems.
