Senior Care Assistant – Night Shift

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our night team at Birkin Lodge Nursing Home. The role covers 33 hours per week on a night rota (19:30‑07:30) and includes weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Aid residents' emotional well‑being and social needs during night hours.
• Administer and monitor medications safely.
• Support residents at mealtimes.
• Mentor and assist new employees.
• Implement, monitor and review individual care plans.
• Plan, allocate and supervise the work of care assistants on the night shift.

Required profile

• Proactive, passionate and ambitious attitude.
• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant with team‑lead responsibilities.
• Friendly, caring approach and strong communication skills.
• Experience in medication administration.
• Ability to engage well with residents and their families.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
