Senior Electrical Engineer – Low‑Carbon Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical building services for commercial projects. Based in Birmingham with hybrid working (minimum one day onsite), you will shape low‑carbon solutions for a fast‑growing consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and coordinate electrical building services across a diverse commercial portfolio.
• Perform power distribution studies, cable sizing, fault‑level and protection calculations.
• Integrate HVAC systems, heat pumps and associated control strategies.
• Conduct technical reviews and ensure quality assurance of engineering outputs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery from concept through commissioning.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical building services design for commercial environments.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and relevant industry regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to produce calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to mentoring others and contributing to business growth.
• Progress towards, or attainment of, IEng or CEng status is advantageous.
