Senior Finance Officer – Interim (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join a well‑established organisation in London on an interim basis. The role is hybrid, requiring 2‑3 days in the office, with Wednesdays mandatory. Immediate start and a competitive salary are offered.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end close and preparation of management accounts.
• Assist with VAT returns and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support budget maintenance, code creation, and updates within finance systems.
• Provide payroll cover for approximately 200 employees.
• Process overhead allocations and support regular reporting requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of reporting packs and reconciliations.
• Liaise with stakeholders across finance, HR, and other departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Oversee finance and expense systems (e.g., Proactis), maintaining workflows, user access, and documentation.
• Provide guidance to internal users and assist with updates to finance policies and intranet resources.

Required profile

• Experience in a Senior Finance Officer or Finance Officer role.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end processes, VAT, and double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Exposure to budgeting and financial reporting.
• Confident stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with finance/expense systems such as Proactis.
• Familiarity with SUN finance system (desirable).

What we offer

• Salary £40,000‑£43,000 per year.
