Senior Pharmacy Support Worker – Primary Care

About the role

The Senior Pharmacy Support Worker will join a collaborative Primary Care Pharmacy Team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will help ensure safe, effective use of medicines across GP practices and community settings, contributing directly to improved patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support prescription management processes within GP practices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Undertake non‑clinical medication reviews following agreed protocols and flag potential issues.
• Act as a primary contact for pharmacy, GP practice and community pharmacy queries, triaging appropriately.
• Collect, analyse and present prescribing and clinical data to inform pharmacy team activities.
• Assist with medicine reconciliation and keep patient records up to date.
• Coordinate pharmacist clinics and support delivery of pharmacotherapy services across practices.

Required profile

• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in an administrative or healthcare environment with exposure to medicines management.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (right to work statement required).
• Detail‑oriented, motivated and passionate about patient care.
