Senior Planning & Data Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Planning & Data Analyst to join a leading London university on a permanent, hybrid basis. You will play a pivotal role in monitoring, reporting and improving the institution's Access & Participation Plan (APP) and related student management information.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and report on activity against APP targets to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Examine student data covering access, continuation, completion, attainment, awarding gaps and engagement.
• Support consistent delivery of APP data across the university's student management information products.
• Automate APP data analysis and embed it within the broader student information function.
• Design and maintain engaging APP and student MI dashboards using Tableau.
• Provide high‑quality information to Schools and Professional Services directorates.
• Offer analytical support and guidance to evaluation projects and performance assessments.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Access & Participation plans and their use by regulatory bodies such as the OfS.
• Proven experience in data analysis and/or business intelligence within higher education.
• Experience analysing OfS datasets and related metrics.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets using various technological platforms.
• Track record of communicating analytical findings to committees and senior management.
• Knowledge of student records systems reporting.
