Senior Plant Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plant Engineer to join a fast‑growing team delivering large‑scale, low‑carbon energy projects across the UK. The role focuses on maintaining and improving commercial mechanical plant, ensuring reliable heating and supporting critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Service, fault‑find and repair commercial plant equipment such as pumps, boilers, heat exchangers and actuators.
• Respond to reactive breakdowns and restore heating promptly.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to maximise reliability.
• Diagnose faults and implement long‑term corrective solutions.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑4 on‑call rota covering UK‑wide sites.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience on mechanical or commercial plant.
• NVQ Level 3 in Gas/Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication across teams and sites.
• Willingness to travel UK‑wide and cover call‑outs.
• Basic electrical competency and ability to read P&IDs and schematics.
