Senior Project Manager – Grid Automation

About the role

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex Grid Automation projects that modernise electricity networks across the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Nordic region. Based in Stafford (with Glasgow as an alternative), you will own the full project lifecycle from contract hand‑over to final customer acceptance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute project strategies for multiple simultaneous Grid Automation programmes, including offshore wind, transmission and distribution initiatives.
• Manage all phases – engineering, procurement, manufacturing, site delivery, commissioning and hand‑over – ensuring schedule, quality and financial targets are met.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, balancing expectations with technical delivery and commercial performance.
• Secure required resources across a matrix organisation and address technical, operational or commercial challenges promptly.
• Coach and support fellow Project Managers, share lessons learned and contribute to building project‑management capability.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience delivering large‑scale, technically complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial accountability with a track record of meeting budget and schedule commitments.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to act as the main liaison with customers and internal teams.
• Leadership potential with the ability to mentor junior project staff.
