Senior Software Engineer – Margin Technology – Assistant Vice President

About the role

Citi is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Margin Technology team within Markets Technology. You will work with a global group of engineers to design and deliver robust software solutions that support margin and collateral processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Java, Python and React applications.
• Build and expose RESTful APIs using Spring framework.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, users and other engineering teams throughout the full software lifecycle.
• Apply test‑driven development (TDD) and clean‑code practices to ensure reliability.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture across global teams.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Professional software development experience with Java, Python and/or React.
• Hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs with Spring.
• Familiarity with TDD, clean‑code principles, data structures, algorithms and SQL.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to change.
