Site Engineer – Weekend Nights Only

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to lead weekend night operations on a major bridge survey and weld repair project in Birmingham. Working with a Tier 1 contractor, you will coordinate on‑site activities, conduct structural surveys and deliver daily engineering reports.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clear safety and operational briefings (TBS/RAMS) to site teams before each shift.
• Conduct dimensional surveys and monitoring across the bridge structure to identify and log repair locations.
• Monitor shift progress and produce concise end‑of‑shift engineering reports detailing completed works, delays, and next steps.
• Ensure all survey data and repair activities adhere to safety guidelines and Tier 1 quality standards.
• Act as the primary engineering contact on‑site during weekend night shifts, coordinating operatives and site management.

Required profile

• PTS and SSSTS certifications are essential.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil, structural repair or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Competence with standard survey equipment for site layout and monitoring.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.
• Previous work on bridge structures, steelwork or structural maintenance contracts.
