Site Supervisor – Civils & Groundworks

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead the civils and groundworks package on a new build housing development in Hartlepool. Working for a leading regional subcontractor, you will ensure the groundworks team delivers safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of groundworkers, plant operators and labourers.
• Conduct daily safety briefings, tool‑box talks and enforce RAMS compliance.
• Monitor progress on deep drainage, road construction, foundations and finishing works.
• Control quality to meet client specifications and local authority standards.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager to achieve programme milestones and manage onsite deliveries.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Supervisor in the civils/groundworks sector, preferably on residential projects.
• Ability to commit to long‑term work in the Hartlepool area.
• Strong leadership, communication and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification (required).
• CSCS Gold Card (preferred).
• First Aid at Work certification (highly desirable).
