Site Supervisor

About the role

Galliford Try’s Digital Infrastructure division is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead on security‑focused construction projects valued between £1m and £8m across the UK. You will join a regional team, reporting to the Project and Site Managers, and help deliver safe, on‑time, high‑quality outcomes for critical national infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, inclusive site environment and ensure all health‑and‑safety procedures are followed.
• Oversee daily construction activities, guaranteeing work meets specifications, timelines and quality standards.
• Keep accurate site records, including diaries, permits, quality checks and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supply‑chain partners to meet programme and budget targets.
• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings and attend regular site meetings.
• Support planning, programming and pre‑construction set‑up alongside project teams.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing on site.
• Confident communicator with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Experience leading or supporting teams in a construction environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and deliver work to quality standards.
• Willingness to obtain or hold Security Clearance (SC level) and travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 or similar IT systems.
• Knowledge of site documentation and business management systems.
• Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and associated documentation processes.
• Experience in civil‑engineering tasks such as drainage, ducting, excavation or reinforced concrete works.
