Slitter Operative – Temp-to-Perm Manufacturing Role

About the role

Join a leading organisation that produces advanced materials for filtration, separator and energy storage applications. As a Slitter Operative you will work on a temp‑to‑perm basis in a dynamic manufacturing environment, following a four‑days‑on, four‑days‑off shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate reel widths and verify that the correct reels and packaging are ready for production.
• Load reels onto slitter machines, thread paper, set knife bars and make adjustments as required.
• Monitor the slitter operation, report faults to the Slitting IC and ensure smooth running.
• Operate trim and dust‑extractor units, taking samples when needed.
• Handle coils – remove, mark, record data and pass them on for packaging.
• Assist with reel upending, cutting centres and other department tasks.
• Carry out minor maintenance, maintain housekeeping standards and complete health‑and‑safety checks.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing setting (preferred).
• Team‑player who can support colleagues and adapt to shift patterns.
• Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to report issues promptly.
• Motivation to upskill and progress within the company.
