Software Engineer – Defence (Hybrid, London)

About the role

Faculty is seeking an ambitious Software Engineer to join its Defence team in London. The role focuses on advancing cloud and edge computing solutions for high‑stakes defence projects, working alongside senior technical leaders at the intersection of Machine Learning Engineering and Data Science.

Key responsibilities

• Build and extend critical components of client deliverables across diverse software domains.
• Deliver robust technical artefacts in both compiled and non‑compiled languages.
• Implement engineering patterns and practices tailored for the defence sector.
• Collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineering and Data Science teams to integrate solutions.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices to improve scalability and code quality.
• Execute CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments on Kubernetes and bare‑metal environments.

Required profile

• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Willingness to work 2–4 days per week on‑site at client locations, with flexibility to work remotely or from the London office otherwise.
• Proven ability to solve bounded technical problems and deliver robust solutions.
