Solicitor – CICA Claims & Criminal Injury (Remote)

About the role
We are seeking a commercially‑minded solicitor to join our growing CICA team on a fully remote basis. The role offers autonomy to manage a full caseload of CICA and criminal injury matters from instruction through to settlement or appeal, while contributing to practice development and process improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of CICA claims from instruction through to settlement, review, or appeal
- Provide pragmatic, commercially aware legal advice on eligibility, quantum, and evidential requirements
- Prepare and submit applications, reviews, and appeals in accordance with CICA rules and deadlines
- Analyse evidence including medical records, police reports, and expert documentation
- Act as the primary client contact, delivering clear, empathetic, and timely communication
- Proactively engage with clients by telephone to progress claims and improve engagement
- Assist clients with onboarding, applications, and portal‑related queries
- Prepare appeal submissions and supporting documentation
- Liaise with CICA, medical experts, counsel, and third parties
- Ensure compliance with SRA standards, regulations and internal governance frameworks
- Maintain accurate records using case management systems and legal tech platforms
- Contribute to process optimisation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Provide guidance or supervision to paralegals and junior staff where required
- Support business development and growth of the CICA practice
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate
- Experience in CICA claims, personal injury, criminal injury or related litigation
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently in a deadline‑driven environment
- Strong understanding of the CICA framework (or ability to develop expertise quickly)
- Excellent client‑care skills, especially with vulnerable clients
- Strong drafting, analytical and organisational abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and high‑volume caseloads
- Comfortable using case management systems and digital tools
- Good working knowledge of SRA compliance requirements
