Solicitor – Motor Team (Insurance Defence)

About the role

You will handle a varied caseload of litigated motor injury and credit hire cases within the County Court jurisdiction. The role is suited to solicitors with 2‑5 years post‑qualification experience and offers the chance to develop specialised expertise in motor insurance defence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage motor injury and credit hire claims from inception to resolution, ensuring compliance with client instructions and commercial objectives.
• Interview witnesses, draft statements, pleadings and applications, and liaise with insurers, policyholders and third parties.
• Instruct counsel, attend conferences, mediations and court hearings (in person or remotely), and deliver performance targets and quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date case management systems and ensure adherence to LSNI regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a Law degree and 2‑5 years PQE.
• Experience in defence insurance litigation is desirable but not essential.
• Strong telephone advocacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Analytical, research and IT proficiency.
