About the role
Are you a qualified SENCO looking for a new opportunity? This full‑time position involves leading and developing the school’s SEND provision, working closely with the senior leadership team, teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external agencies to ensure pupils with additional needs receive the right support and make progress.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the school’s SEND provision, ensuring appropriate support for pupils with additional needs.
- Oversee EHCPs, reviews and statutory SEND processes.
- Work closely with class teachers and teaching assistants to devise effective support strategies.
- Monitor progress and outcomes of pupils with SEND.
- Provide advice, guidance and training to teaching and support staff.
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Support identification and assessment of pupils with additional needs.
- Maintain accurate SEND records and meet statutory requirements.
Required profile
- Qualified SENCO with a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience working in a primary school setting.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and the processes for identifying and supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, staff, families and external agencies.
