Staff Nurse – Redburn Rehabilitation Ward

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the Redburn Rehabilitation Ward at Ayrshire Central Hospital. The ward is a busy 20‑bed stroke rehabilitation unit where you will deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, person‑centred nursing care to patients recovering from stroke.
• Collaborate with doctors, therapists and other professionals to implement evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Supervise and mentor nursing students and junior staff.
• Participate in ward meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Familiarity with NHS Ayrshire & Arran policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to keep clinical skills and knowledge current.
• Willingness to support and mentor less experienced colleagues.
