About the role
The British Transport Police are seeking a highly organised Station Support Officer to assist the Officer in Charge with the day‑to‑day running of a busy railway station in Portsmouth. This permanent, office‑based role offers a varied workload supporting governance, procurement, property management and corporate services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Officer in Charge, including station engagement and information collation.
- Ensure information is stored, accessed and shared in line with the Information Management policy.
- Monitor station supplies, place orders and track progress of purchases.
- Conduct monthly vehicle mileage and logbook checks, arrange repairs and maintenance.
- Perform regular building inspections and report to the facilities management provider.
- Carry out Health and Safety checks according to guidance.
Required profile
- Proficient use of MS Office applications.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
- Previous administrative experience with demonstrable attention to detail.
