Supply Chain Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established manufacturing business in Birmingham to recruit a Supply Chain Manager. The role will own procurement, production planning, scheduling, inventory management and supplier performance across the UK operation, shaping strategy and driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing and supply chain strategies that support business objectives.
• Lead supplier management activities, driving performance, cost optimisation and long‑term partnerships.
• Oversee production planning and scheduling to maximise operational efficiency and customer service levels.
• Manage inventory and material availability, ensuring optimal stock levels and working capital performance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align supply chain activities with customer demand and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen service delivery.
• Analyse supply chain performance data and develop improvement initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop a small supply chain team.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing purchasing, planning, inventory or broader supply chain activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset with a track record of delivering operational efficiencies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams.

• Competitive salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per year.
