Supported Housing Officer – Temporary Full‑Time

About the role

The successful candidate will join a well‑established housing provider in Birmingham as a Supported Housing Officer on a temporary, full‑time basis. You will be the primary point of contact for residents across a designated housing patch, helping them sustain tenancies and access support services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tenancy and estate‑related issues for a varied portfolio of properties.
• Collect income, reduce rent arrears through early intervention and repayment arrangements.
• Support tenancy sustainment and signpost residents to relevant support services.
• Investigate tenancy breaches and anti‑social behaviour, working with partner agencies.
• Conduct tenancy visits, estate inspections and resident meetings.
• Assist with allocation and letting of vacant properties.
• Liaise with property services on repairs, maintenance, voids and health‑and‑safety matters.
• Support resident engagement activities and contribute to performance reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in housing management, tenancy management, income recovery or a related social‑housing environment.
• Knowledge of rent arrears management, tenancy sustainment and relevant housing legislation.
• Proven ability to manage customer cases and resolve complex housing issues.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with residents and stakeholders.
• Experience dealing with anti‑social behaviour, safeguarding and tenancy enforcement.
• Ability to work independently, manage a busy caseload and meet performance targets.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate housing management records.
