About the role
We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Bedford, supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The position starts in September and is offered on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis, with a practical trial day available for candidates to experience the school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support emotional regulation and manage challenging behaviour.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality support.
Required profile
- Experience in residential childcare, SEMH, autism or therapeutic/trauma‑informed settings.
- Commitment to trauma‑informed practice and supporting pupils with complex needs.
