About the role
Hays Education is partnering with a well‑regarded primary school in East Birmingham to find a Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2. The role runs from September 2026 to the end of the academic year, supporting a Year 5 or Year 6 class on a full‑time, five‑day week basis.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver curriculum content across subjects.
- Provide targeted interventions for pupils who need additional support.
- Help maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement.
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation.
- Support pupils’ social and academic development throughout the day.
Required profile
- Recent experience as a Teaching Assistant within Key Stage 2.
- Experience with Year 5 and/or Year 6 pupils is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Proactive, positive attitude towards supporting children’s learning.
- Genuine passion for helping pupils achieve academically and socially.
