Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

A friendly and supportive primary school in Tower Hamlets, East London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will work alongside experienced teachers to support children’s learning and development.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual learning needs.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Desirable: previous TA experience, SEN experience, Level 2/3 TA qualification, or a related degree.
