Temporary School Caretaker (8‑week contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced caretaker to support a school in Leatherhead for an eight‑week temporary assignment starting in August. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean, and secure environment for staff and students while the school is in operation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular security checks across the school premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, and coordinate larger repairs with external contractors.
• Ensure the school environment remains safe, clean, and well‑maintained.
• Assist with setting up classrooms and assembly areas for various activities.
• Open and close the school building each day.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or any issues that arise.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a caretaker or in a similar facilities‑maintenance role.
• Good physical condition and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Required skills

• Basic repair and maintenance tasks.
