About the role

Join Southeastern as a Trainee Train Conductor in Tonbridge and work through a nationally‑recognised Conductor Apprenticeship Programme. Key responsibilities

• Welcome passengers aboard, ensure they feel safe and comfortable.
• Check, issue and collect tickets, handling cash transactions accurately.
• Communicate with the train driver and relay information about any operational issues.
• Inform passengers of delays or disruptions and help resolve ticketing problems.
• Deal with difficult situations calmly and professionally, maintaining service standards.

Required profile

• Passion for delivering excellent passenger experiences.
• Proven face‑to‑face customer service experience.
• Confidence handling challenging situations independently.
• Accurate cash handling and payment experience.
• Strong communication, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Resilience under pressure and ability to stay calm.
• Residence within a 15‑mile radius of the Tonbridge depot.
