About the role
We are looking for a Training Officer to lead onboarding and continuous development for our fast‑growing sales team at Diaspora Insurance. Based in Birmingham, you will shape a training programme that directly influences revenue and customer outcomes for our diaspora‑focused insurance solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full onboarding journey for new sales hires, covering product knowledge, sales process, CRM usage, call etiquette and compliance basics.
- Design, deliver and iterate ongoing training on objection handling, upselling and customer empathy for diaspora audiences.
- Create playbooks, call scripts and bite‑size learning assets that reps can access on demand.
- Run role‑play sessions, call‑shadowing and one‑to‑one coaching to boost performance.
- Partner with sales leadership to identify skill gaps from call recordings, QA scores and sales data.
- Maintain and update training materials as products and processes evolve.
- Measure training impact on ramp time, conversion rates and quality metrics.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years experience in sales training, sales enablement or sales management, preferably within insurance or financial services.
- Proven ability to deliver live and virtual training to sales teams.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling and objection handling.
- Data‑driven mindset with experience using metrics to improve programmes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- CIPD or Train‑the‑Trainer certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Required skills
- Designing clear, concise training materials such as slides, scripts and one‑pagers.
- Facilitating engaging live and virtual learning sessions.
- Analyzing sales data to identify training needs.
- Coaching individuals and teams to improve performance.
