University Teacher – Electronics & Electrical Engineering

About the role

The University of Edinburgh is looking for a University Teacher to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the discipline of Electronics & Electrical Engineering within the School of Engineering. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position (35 hours per week) based on campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess taught courses in Signals and Communication Systems and Signal Processing.
• Prepare lecture materials, tutorials and laboratory sessions.
• Provide academic support and feedback to students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching practice.
• Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees as required.

Required profile

• PhD and first degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and assess courses in Signals and Communication Systems and Signal Processing.
• Motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
