About the role
The School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a University Teacher to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Statistics and Data Science on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis.
Key responsibilities
- Teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in statistics and data science.
- Assess student work, provide feedback and support academic progress.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of courses and programmes.
- Participate in teaching administration and provide academic support to students.
- Engage in scholarly activities within the School of Mathematics.
Required profile
- PhD in Statistics or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience of teaching in higher education with a growing teaching portfolio.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities.
- Ability to plan, initiate projects and support the development of others.
Required skills
- Statistical theory and methods.
- Data science concepts and techniques.
