Unreal Engine Developer

About the role

Framestore’s Immersive Studio in London is seeking an Unreal Engine Developer to create cutting‑edge interactive experiences that blend physical and virtual worlds. Reporting to the Lead Game Programmer, you will work across the full project lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to delivering high‑quality AR, VR, real‑time animation and location‑based attractions.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end implementation of core interactive mechanics, from concept to deployment.
• Write clean, well‑documented, optimised C++ code within established engine architectures.
• Rapidly prototype experimental features, sensor integrations and display solutions alongside creative teams.
• Profile, debug and optimise engine performance to meet platform targets and frame‑rate goals.
• Guide non‑technical team members and artists on engine best practices, performance limits and asset budgets.
• Participate in code reviews and produce internal technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑critical code in a games, immersive or real‑time production environment.
• Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine systems, advanced Blueprint scripting and engine architecture.
• Strong C++ programming skills with solid object‑oriented design principles.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, solution‑oriented approach under tight deadlines.
