Vice President, Credit Structuring

About the role

The Vice President in Public Side Structuring will lead credit‑structuring activities for a diverse set of institutional clients across the UK and Europe. You will originate, design and execute bespoke credit, funding and risk‑management solutions that meet complex client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and execute tailored credit solutions, funding transactions and hedging strategies.
• Develop innovative, capital‑efficient products under Solvency II, internal‑model frameworks and other prudential regulations.
• Provide expertise on credit products, pricing, trade analytics and solution design for UK and European institutional clients.
• Generate ideas, prepare bespoke pitches and support transaction execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, insurers, pension funds and corporate counterparties.
• Collaborate with bankers, DCM originators, derivatives marketers, credit risk, methodology and legal teams across Europe and LatAm.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments (EIOPA, PRA, TPR, ESG, benchmark reforms) and integrate them into client solutions.
• Develop analytical tools for client‑specific asset‑liability management and funding proposals.
• Contribute to the growth of Santander’s Global Banking & Markets franchise through commercial and innovative structuring capabilities.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to manage complex transactions in a client‑focused environment.
• CISI Regulatory, Securities and Derivatives Modules (essential).
• Deep understanding of credit pricing theory and its practical application.
• Detailed knowledge of the full suite of credit derivative products.
• Good understanding of accounting principles related to credit structures.
