Wing Structural Design Placement – 12.5‑Month Internship

About the role

This 12.5‑month placement is with Airbus' Wing Structural Design team in Broughton, supporting the A400M, A320, A330 and A350 programmes. You will work alongside experienced structural engineers on both established and future wing developments.

Key responsibilities

• Design composite and metallic wing structures across various Airbus programmes.
• Create design schemes, frontier and interface drawings and manufacturing data.
• Assess design solutions against time, cost and quality targets while ensuring airworthiness compliance.
• Provide direct engineering support to the production line to minimise disruptions.
• Propose and develop innovative projects to improve the production environment.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of overall aircraft structural design principles and techniques.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and willingness to propose new ideas.
• Self‑driven, resilient and able to work autonomously.
