WIP & Billing Accountant – Events Agency

About the role

This position sits within a fast‑paced creative events agency in Central London. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the WIP & Billing Accountant will manage client invoicing, work‑in‑progress reconciliation and support month‑end close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate client billing across multiple accounts and reconcile WIP using Paprika.
• Review client budgets versus actual spend and flag variances.
• Process supplier payments, record client receipts and perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Support payment runs, verify payment details and manage corporate credit‑card postings.
• Conduct credit control, monitor overdue accounts and alert the team to problem clients.
• Assist with month‑end reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations, income forecasting and debtor analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in high‑volume billing, WIP management and credit control within an events or agency environment.
• Familiarity with accrued/deferred income and revenue‑recognition principles.
• Studying or holding ACCA/CIMA qualifications.
• Ability to work in a rapid, multitasking environment and act as a proactive self‑starter.
