Youth Offender Officer – SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role
The Youth Offending Service Worker – SEN Teaching Assistant role supports vulnerable young people in Birmingham schools. You will work within specialist education settings, helping pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD, trauma and other needs to achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support emotional regulation and encourage positive behaviour.
- Deliver interventions alongside teaching staff.
- Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Manage and support pupils who present challenging behaviours.
Required profile
- Experience working within Youth Offending Services.
- Ability to engage vulnerable young people and build trust.
- Capability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo required checks.
