1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Gloucester

About the role

Academics is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Gloucester. You will work closely with a pupil who requires additional learning support, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for a pupil with special educational needs to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
• Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the child's education plan.
• Support the pupil's emotional, social, and academic development throughout the school day.
• Work in close collaboration with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and contribute to progress reviews and reports.

Required profile

• Prior experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant capacity.
• Background in SEN support (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, etc.) is highly desirable.
• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
• A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references.
