1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

Academics Ltd is seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming primary school in Slough. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to make a genuine difference to a child’s learning, confidence and overall development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one‑to‑one support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day.
• Assist the pupil with academic tasks, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship that encourages independence and active participation.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with SEN in a school, care or youth‑work setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
