1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2 (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)

About the role
Randstad Education is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary school in Liverpool. You will work directly with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils who have autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs, helping them access the curriculum and manage emotions.
Key responsibilities
- Adapt KS1 and KS2 curriculum tasks into engaging, accessible activities tailored to each pupil.
- Provide emotional regulation support using co‑regulation techniques and sensory breaks.
- Implement visual timetables, structured routines, and movement breaks to aid daily navigation.
- Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCo, and Randstad consultants to monitor progress against IEPs or EHCP targets.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH in a primary setting (or transferable experience in youth work, coaching, etc.).
- Calm, patient demeanor with strong de‑escalation skills.
- Proactive in recognising triggers and initiating preventative strategies.
- Reliable and committed to providing consistent support.
