A320 Family Development Programme Internship – 12.5 months

About the role

Join Airbus' A320 Family Development Programme Team in Filton for a 12.5‑month placement. You will be immersed in the full aircraft modification lifecycle, from concept through design, manufacturing and flight testing, gaining hands‑on experience across structures, systems and electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

• Work on projects to improve the aircraft, reduce weight and update materials to support long‑term environmental goals.
• Train potential future Airbus employees and share knowledge across the team.
• Learn Airbus processes, product knowledge and develop leadership and business‑case skills.
• Monitor progress of engineering and manufacturing work on multiple projects.
• Observe and support project meetings, learning efficient industry‑standard practices.
• Travel to other Airbus sites and supplier facilities to review project status.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving project‑related issues.

Required profile

• Undergraduate student for the entire placement period, studying an Engineering degree (Structures, Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical/Electronic, or Mathematical & Technology).
• Must provide graduation date and submit a CV with a cover letter outlining motivation.
• Security clearance: BPSS check required; UK SC‑level or Export Control clearance may be needed.
• Nice‑to‑have knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
