A350 Family Chief Engineer Team Placement – 12.5‑month Internship

About the role

The A350 Chief Engineer’s Team is seeking an intern to support the design and development of the A350 wing, landing‑gear, fuel system and fuel‑tank flammability reduction system. The 12.5‑month placement starts on 16 August 2027 in Filton, Bristol and offers hands‑on experience across multiple aircraft disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Chief Engineering team to define aircraft technologies, requirements and contribute to product‑development projects.
• Resolve aircraft build and in‑service issues using a problem‑solving approach.
• Liaise with Engineering, Safety and Procurement teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Improve team processes through internal projects and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field for the full placement duration.
• Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
• Basic understanding of project management and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
• Proactive, empathetic and comfortable asking questions, sharing opinions and travelling between European sites if required.
