Academic Lead for Future Students

About the role

The Academic Lead for Future Students is a senior position within the School of Music and Performing Arts, responsible for shaping recruitment, admissions and communications strategies. Reporting to the School Leadership Team, the role combines academic credibility with strategic leadership to attract and support the next generation of talent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop innovative undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment strategies.
• Drive application growth, conversion and equitable access for prospective students.
• Champion the School’s external profile through compelling communications across all channels.
• Lead and line‑manage an academic team, fostering development and high performance.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the School as a key member of the leadership team.
• Maintain an active teaching and scholarly profile to provide sector insight.

Required profile

• Proven academic leadership experience.
• A good first degree in a relevant discipline.
• Significant higher‑education experience with expertise in student recruitment, admissions or marketing.
• Experience of data analysis and using insight to inform strategic decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop a team effectively.
• Understanding of the creative industries landscape, particularly music, performance and production sectors.
