Account Director - Food and Beverage

About the role

PURPLE is a global lifestyle communications agency seeking an ambitious senior candidate to lead its Food & Beverage portfolio in London. The role reports to the Senior Account Director and involves creating and implementing PR strategies for top‑tier restaurant and hospitality clients.

Key responsibilities

• Strategize, execute, and manage global media relations campaigns across lifestyle, travel, food and business media.
• Manage and guide junior team members, overseeing daily operations of the F&B PR team.
• Act as the day‑to‑day point of contact for high‑level client stakeholders, from founders to CEOs.
• Develop media outreach strategies and timelines aligned with overall project schedules.
• Build on existing media relationships and create new contacts across mainstream, trade and blog outlets.
• Collaborate with division heads and project teams to integrate cultural programming and ensure successful execution of press, social media, events and retail collaborations.
• Maintain active involvement with fashion, travel, art, design and architecture communities.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of PR and marketing experience, preferably within food, drink, restaurant or hospitality sectors.
• Strong network of senior media contacts across broadcast, print and online platforms.
• Proven experience managing account teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Established relationships with influencers in fashion, travel, beauty, lifestyle, music, art and culture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BA/BS degree required.
