Account Manager

About the role

We are seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Account Manager to join our growing team in London. You will manage day‑to‑day client relationships, oversee campaign execution and secure impactful media coverage across multiple sectors. The role involves shaping narratives, driving results and contributing to the strategic growth of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, aligning with their goals and expectations.
• Build trusted relationships through regular updates, strategic counsel and value delivery.
• Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors and influencers across traditional and digital media.
• Proactively pitch stories, news and thought‑leadership pieces that match client objectives.
• Coordinate multi‑channel PR campaigns, managing timelines, deliverables and budgets.
• Draft press releases, briefing documents, media alerts and other communication materials.
• Track media coverage and prepare insightful client reports with clear metrics.
• Use data and client feedback to refine strategies and improve performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–5 years of PR experience, ideally in an agency setting.
• Proven ability to manage B2B, B2C or tech clients.
• Strong understanding of the South African and Sub‑Saharan media landscape, with international media knowledge a plus.
• Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
• Strong media pitching skills with a track record of securing high‑quality coverage.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and collaborative teamwork approach.
