Accountant – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Join a rapidly growing financial services group on the outskirts of Cheltenham as an Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, reporting to the Accounting Manager and working in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, accruals, pre‑payments and consolidate financial reports.
• Prepare statutory accounts, maintain ledgers, reconcile journals and monitor cash movements.
• Approve payments, support payroll processing and assist with audit queries.
• Document controls, support month‑end and year‑end processes and contribute to process‑improvement projects.
• Train and develop junior finance team members as required.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar accounting role, preparing management accounts and financial statements.
• Part‑qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities with a customer‑focused approach.
• Experience in financial services or insurance is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Familiarity with Sun or Sage Intacct finance systems.
