Accountant – Hedge Fund (0-2 years PQE)

About the role

We are looking for a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years post‑qualified experience) to join a fast‑paced macro hedge fund in London. The role offers broad exposure to fund accounting, financial reporting and business operations within a high‑performing investment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensure accuracy of financial records and support the year‑end audit process.
• Collaborate with fund administrators, review cash, positions and P&L reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor portfolio valuations and pricing sources.
• Produce internal management accounts, variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis to aid investment and operational decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, assist with regulatory reporting and help improve financial processes and systems.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
• 0–2 years post‑qualified experience, preferably in audit, fund accounting or financial services.
• Exposure to investment management, hedge funds or asset management is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with financial systems.
