Accountant – Local Finance & Accounting

About the role

This hybrid position (2 days in the Oxfordshire office, 3 days remote) joins PSI’s UK finance team to manage the full‑cycle accounting function for the local entity. You will ensure accurate daily processing, timely month‑end close, and compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements while supporting group reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions – vendor invoices, payments, bank entries, journal postings, intercompany movements, and payroll‑related items.
• Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and employee expense records.
• Lead monthly and quarterly closing activities, prepare period‑end adjustments, reconciliations and supporting schedules in line with local GAAP.
• Prepare and submit quarterly country financial reports to group headquarters, ensuring accurate trial balances, intercompany reconciliations and variance analysis.
• File VAT returns, statistical filings and other regulatory declarations; manage corporate, withholding and other local tax obligations.
• Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax consultants and local authorities.
• Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage the year‑end audit process.
• Document accounting procedures, uphold internal controls and identify opportunities to streamline finance processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of solid accounting experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Hands‑on experience in full‑cycle accounting and finance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
