Accounts Assistant – Finance Support Role

About the role

KCR Solutions is seeking an organised and detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to join its growing team in Durham. Working in a supportive office environment, you will handle a variety of transactional finance duties and provide wider assistance to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately using Xero.
• Maintain purchase ledger accounts and resolve supplier queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Raise and process customer invoices, maintain sales ledger, and allocate receipts.
• Assist with credit control and follow up outstanding payments.
• Handle customer and supplier enquiries professionally.
• Maintain cash books and perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Support month‑end processes and general finance administration.
• Provide general office administration and support to the Finance Manager on ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude within a small team.

What we offer

• Salary up to £30,000, dependent on experience.
