Accounts Assistant (French Speaking)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant who is fluent in French to support our Credit Controller and Accounts Receivable Supervisor for the UK and France. Working hybrid from our purpose‑built facility in Witchford, Ely and from home, you will help manage the sales ledger, billing and credit control processes for Thorlabs SAS.

Key responsibilities

• Contact French customers to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolve payment queries.
• Process electronic invoice transmission and match payments against outstanding invoices.
• Issue credit notes, re‑invoice where necessary and prepare monthly customer account statements.
• Maintain KPI reporting for sales‑ledger performance and identify invoicing errors.
• Assist with shipped‑not‑invoiced sales orders and support month‑end closing activities.
• Support purchase ledger tasks for Thorlabs SAS as directed by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

Required profile

• High proficiency in spoken and written French.
• Experience in an accounts department, preferably with sales‑ledger or credit control duties.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, alignment with company core values and willingness to take on new challenges.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems.
